"I am so pleased with my results!"

Here's something from a new member of our online community forum:

"I started the diet officially last Friday and weighed this a.m. [Thursday] I have lost 3 pounds! I am sleeping better, and feel calm and relaxed. I really thought I wouldn't lose much with all the carbs I had been eating, but ta-da! My biggest concern was not having my wine in the evening, but the carb dinner and evening snack really helped there, and I didn't miss it very much. One night I didn't even think about it. I go to Curves, so my exercise program is in place, which I know is very important. But this is like the dream way of eating for me, and it is working. I do love sweets, and being able to have red licorice, marshmallows in hot chocolate, and cookie treats helps tremendously. Never before have those things been allowed in the house on any other eating program I have tried. I can't wait to see what happens next week. I will probably be like others who stick with Phase I until the weight loss isn't so easy, then move on to Phase II. I wish you all great results, too"

Another comment from or online Serotonin Power Diet forum responding to a new community member just starting the diet:

This program does exactly what it promises and, even at first glance of the book, it may seem a bit confusing, it gets real easy, real quickly! "You've made my afternoons bearable again."

From one of our readers:

"I have only been on the diet for a little over a week so this may be a placebo effect but I already feel better and I've lost 4 pounds. I'm not starving and for the first time since having my daughter 2 years ago, I don't need a nap in the middle of the day. I never had a weight problem until beginning Prozac for cyclothymic disorder and in 3 months put on 25 pounds. I've always exercised so not being able to lose the weight was frustrating. With this diet my kids and I can have a snack together and I don't have to worry about consequences. You've made my afternoons bearable again.

"I DO feel empowered"

From a member of our Serotonin Power Diet online community forum:

"I DO feel empowered, for many good things that have come into my life, but I started being aware of them after being introduced to this program. Because of the serotonin boost, and all the kept promises and results, I feel like I deserve whatever it is that I truly want, and now I have the positive energy to obtain them. It is not just because of the physical transformation...it goes much deeper than that. It is realizing to care enough about yourself to care for your self...in all ways. I will be forever grateful for being introduced to this program!"

"Binge Be Gone!"

We just saw this posting on amazon.com from someone who felt the dramatic effect of serotonin to halt eating binges:

I ran across the Serotonin Diet recently in a magazine article [First For Women, Feb 25, 2008 issue]. The magazine gave a Cliff's Note version of the "pure carb" snacking concept. I at first dismissed this concept, me being a Low Carb convert. But, I have always struggled with binge eating. Even after losing 60 recently (low carb dieting) I was still not in control. Although I have maintained my weight loss it is a constant binge then diet cycle. I live in constant fear that I will lose the battle. I read this article on the second day of a 2-day binge. The next day I was resolved to be good on my diet to recover from the bingeing I had been doing. In the afternoon (my binges always hit in the afternoon and/or evenings) I could feel a binge coming on (uncontrollable urge to go get something "bad" out of the work vending machine). I remembered the article I had read and instead I bought a bag of Rold gold pretzels and ate those. I was astounded at how it filled me up and took the binge urge away - nothing has ever worked like this before in my life!! Absolutely amazing. The following day I again had the binge urge and again I bought the pretzels and again another binge was averted. It seems as though it takes time for these urges to go away (maybe they never do) but I now have a tool for fighting back other then willpower (which has never worked on binge urges)

I have just ordered the book and hope to learn more about how to make this a lifestyle and never have to worry about bingeing again.
